Cumberland – Ralph Berger, 88, of Apple Ridge Road, died Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the husband of Carol (Haegel) Berger. Mr. and Mrs. Berger had been married for sixty-six years.
Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, he had lived in Lincoln, Massachusetts before moving to Cumberland ten years ago.
Mr. Berger was the President of Skinner & Sherman Laboratories, and a member of many professional organizations. He was a former member of Weston Congregational Church, Weston, Massachusetts.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Kathryn Fitzgerald of Cumberland; one son, Eric Berger of Cumberland; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late John W. Berger and the brother of the late Robert Berger.
A Service of Remembrance & Thanksgiving will be held Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in Calvin Presbyterian Church, 126 Angell Road, Cumberland. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
