Lincoln - Conn, Mary Florentine (Hickey) died peacefully Sunday at The Scandinavian Home surrounded by her family. She celebrated her 85th birthday on Wednesday enjoying a big piece of cake. She was the wife of the late Joseph H. Conn, Jr.
Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late William C. and Grace M. (Rampe) Hickey, she lived in Pawtucket and Lincoln for most of her life.
Mrs. Conn was a clerk for the State of Rhode Island Department of Human Services. Prior to her marriage, she was an agent with American Airlines and traveled extensively. She was a graduate of St. Xavier Academy, Providence. She was a member of the American Legion Post #33 Ladies Auxiliary, and a communicant of St. Jude Church.
In her later years, her ten grandchildren were the light of her life. She attended many sporting events, graduations, birthdays, and celebrations of their accomplishments sharing her pride in each of them with her friends.
She is survived by four daughters, Martha Hultzman of West Greenwich, Roberta King of Seekonk, Mass., Jennifer Daneau of South Attleboro, Mass., and Margaret McGuire of South Kingstown; one sister, Marcia Burdick of Warwick; and ten grandchildren: Dan, Tori, and Christina Hultzman; Thomas, Elizabeth, Sarah, Michael and Emily King; and MaryCate and Ellie McGuire. She was the twin sister of the late Marion Thomas, and the sister of the late William C. Hickey, Jr. and Clare Samolis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, Thursday, March 11, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Jude Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Wednesday at BELLOWS-FALSO FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln from 4:00-7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory to the Scandinavian Home, 1811 Broad Street, Cranston, R.I. 02905, or Home & Hospice Care of R.I., 1185 North Main Street, Providence, R.I. 02904, would be appreciated.
